A group of villagers initiated the Trunch beekeeping group under the umbrella of Trunch Village Society in 2015.

The huge national revival in beekeeping of recent years has also contributed to a keen interest in bees in Trunch. Because many people baulk at the cost of setting up their own hives, we have set up as a group to keep costs down and share training and knowledge, while working together to meet the responsibilities of tending the hives.

Trunch Village Society raises funds for village groups and projects. It is a non-profit-making organisation and all money raised is used for village projects and activities. It actively looks for village projects to help fund, holds funds for project groups like the composting scheme and awards one off grants to various other activities.
