Hive structure from bottom to top
Different types of bee cells

- Stand for hive
- Open mesh floor so that the varroa mites fall through. You then can count the number of mites fallen on the bottom board.
- Brood Chamber: 11 frames with wax foundation. Bees add wax to become combs.
Drone cells: Mostly on the edge of a frame, each cell is 0.6mm wide.
Worker cells: 0.5mm wide.
- Queen Excluder: keeping the queen in the brood chamber
- Super: Honey chamber, placed above the brood chamber & queen excluder. Its frames are smaller.
